Nationalism, Globalization, and Sustainability
A key premise of our focus in Nationalism, Globalization, and Sustainability is that the intensification of global connectivity and exchange unsettles conventional social arrangements such as the nation-state/nationalism, civil society, sustainability and the operation of politics, family and organizations. Our faculty conduct research across places categorized as “local,” “national,” and “international” or “global.” Our topics of research include: globalization and global imaginaries, ideologies/practices of nationalism and racism, migration and anti-immigrant politics, transnational organizations and occupations, and the intersection between class, colonialism and ideas of gender and race, among others.
