Graduate Studies

We offer two graduate programs of study: the MA in Sociology (Plan A and Plan B); and the PhD in Sociology.

The graduate program provides students with a strong foundation in the theory and methods of sociological research. Both faculty and graduate students are involved in several broad areas of sociological study, including race, ethnicity, gender, class; health, aging, medical sociology; Asia, Pacific, and Hawaiʻi in regional and global contexts; crime, law, and social control; and nationalism, globalization, and sustainability.
