Alpha Kappa Delta
Alpha Kappa Delta seeks to acknowledge and promote excellence in scholarship in the study of sociology, the research of social problems, and such other social and intellectual activities as will lead to improvement in the human condition.
Founded in 1920, Alpha Kappa Delta (AKD) is the International Sociology Honor Society. Lifetime membership benefits include an AKD certificate and a free one-year subscription to Sociological Inquiry. Possible funding opportunities include student travel awards and paper competitions for both undergraduate and graduate students. Members can receive a graduation cord and will be recognized in the Commencement program.
